Study of some new substituted spiro heterocycles as potential anti fungal agents

A number 5-(4’-chlorophenyl)-2-spiro-(1,3-dithiolane-2,4’)-3’-chloroazetidin-2-one-1,3,4-oxadiazole (3) have been prepared by reaction between 5-(4’-chlorophenyl)-2-[imino-1,3-dithiolane-1-yl]-1,3,4-oxadiazole (2), triethylamine and then chloroacetyl chloride in dioxan, while 5-(4’-chlorophenyl)-2-[imino-1,3-dithiolane-1-yl]-1,3,4-oxadiazole (2)have been prepared by stirring 2-Amino-5-(4’-chlorophenyl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (1), sodium hydroxide and carbon disulphide in methanol. These compounds have been evaluated for their anti fungal activity against Pyricularia oryzae, Pseudopernospora cubensis, Sphaerotheca fuliginea and Phytopthora infestans.
